“Imagining a space that felt “lived in”, Li worked to let her clients’ personality shine through.
They were keen to explore ideas of maximalism and minimalism: “they have a strong eclectic style, yet at the same time, there are elements of minimalism in the architecture”.
This translated to a blend of Japanese minimalism and Milan maximalism—with Japan best encapsulated by an Akari light sculpture in the hall and Japanese tiles in the guest bathroom; and Milan care of CC Tapis rugs, a Moroso sofa and the clients’ own Fornasetti pieces, which also tied into the lush green marble seen throughout the home.”
