Inspiration came from the client, their positive outlook and great energy. The architecture meant that the formal living and dining came off a hallway and unlike an open plan layout, it lends itself to painting the rooms in a colour. So when you’re in the space, it really has a whole different atmosphere to the rest of the house.
The artwork selection helped get the design process started. Original pieces by Caroline Denervaud set the playful and optimist tone for the room. These spontaneous, organic forms by this Swiss artist were the jumping-off-point for the design concept and they give the room a lot of personality.
